Our Health Equity courses are our research-based approach to equipping healthcare professionals with the ability to remain open to care-seekers’ personal identities. These courses educate our healthcare professionals on the building blocks of health equity, while acknowledging that their cultural background, beliefs, values, and traditions can impact how they make decisions about their care.

These courses are recommended for all patients-interfacing healthcare professionals including but not limited to: Physicians, Physicians assistants, nurses, nurses practitioners, allied health professionals, patient advocates, public health professionals, social workers, volunteers, receptionist, researchers, and trainees.

Cultural Competence and Humility

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Define social determinants of health and health equity and identify examples of each
  • Analyze the impact of inequities on the health of Black, Latinx, and Indigenous communities

  • Recall the importance of basic social needs in preventing poor health outcomes
